Some quick tips about posting a workshop

I’m pretty excited to finally have people posting workshops on workshoppers.org! I hope you’re excited too!

If you haven’t yet submitted a listing, I encourage you to jump in and make a post! But before you do, I have noticed a few small issues I wanted to make sure to point out before you hit submit.

The image resizing software can’t handle large images, so please don’t try to upload anything larger than 800px on the long edge.

The image resizing software crops the thumbnails to be 300px by 175px and it does it by keeping the center. This causes many vertical images to have bad crops. I suggest uploading a horizontal image for the thumbnail.

The excerpt should be really short and punchy. Please keep it to 120 characters. This is a design issue and a marketing issue. We need an excerpt that will fit within a tweet!

Please us US dollars for your price. Unfortunately, I don’t yet have a better way of keeping the price metric even for searches. I understand people may want to search by different currencies so I will put this on the roadmap for improvement down the road.

Thanks for your understanding on these minor posting rules. It helps keep the moderation quick and easy if the posts come in formatted correctly.

Of course I do look forward to reading your thoughts in the comments! – Kendrick

What is our goal?

Thank you for visiting! Our goal is simple: Make it easy to find the perfect workshop. Amazing workshops are happening all the time covering a variety of topics and in some amazing places but it can be hard to find the right one at the right time. Our goal is to be the community site that makes it easy to find the workshop you need when you need it.

We’ve started off with a simple platform that makes it really easy for instructors and producers to list workshops and for students to do searches to find those workshops. Over the next few months, we’ll be working to integrate more community features and streamline the posting and searching process even further.

I hope you’ll find the workshop you seek and if you have any ideas for improvements please let us know using the contact form below.
